Dr. Gautam tawari is an excellent doctor he helped me out a lot with my left knee surgery. There was an issue with my left knee there was gap in the cartilage and the bone was infected . A very young but experienced Dr for sports injury. I had an ACL tear and all top doctors in city suggested a surgery where as Dr Gautam Tawari did it conservatively and thanks to only him I didn't had to go through a tough painful surgery. Visited Dr Tawari, when my wife's Achilles tendon injury was not healing even after few months of rest and physical therapy (we were originally seeing another doctor). The other doctors suggested surgery as the only other option. We reached out to Dr. Tawari. After diagnosis, he recommended PRP injection for the same. I had a torn ACL on my left knee, due to a motorbike crash. My left knee was very unstable, swollen and painful. I had met Dr. Tawari at a time when I couldn’t walk with my knee extended because of the pain and the swelling, he was very thorough in his examination of the knee, he then explained to me the nature of the injury and procedures that will be performed on my knee then he gave me some pre-op exercises which were very effective in alleviating the swelling and helped me regain the range of motion. So my surgery was conducted in the month of June 2020 at the Apollo Hospital in Belapur, the doctors performed an ACL Reconstruction + Medial Plica Excision + Patellar Chrondroplasty. I was able to start walking with the help of a walker the same day and the knee has only improved ever since, currently I am 6 weeks post-surgery, undergoing physiotherapy and I am able to walk without support. I find Dr. Tawari’s approach very calculated and clear on the results that he wants to see in his patients, I found him very attentive to my concerns and questions everytime I met him. Overall, it was a great experience, very supportive team of doctors and staff, also procedure itself was relatively painless as its done arthroscopically (Discharged in 1 day). I’m sure that you’ll feel that you are in good hands, I would highly suggest Dr. Tawari for anyone who has had Sports Injuries like mine.

Dr.Gautam Tawari is one of the best and an excellent orthopedic surgeon. My mother underwent right hand shoulder arthroscopy - rotator cuff repair surgery under his observation and consent . Prior surgery she had tremendous pain in her right hand shoulder while making basic movements and was unable to perform her daily household duties. She had spent sleepless nights because her shoulder pain use to worsen at night and would end up consuming painkillers daily for relief which is harmful. But now, post-surgery she is able to perform all her daily household activities very conveniently and without experiencing any pain. Initially my mother was very afraid of surgery , but the way he explained the phases of surgery made my mother confident and got the surgery done. I had been suffering from left knee pain. I experienced a lot of pain when doing certain activities. I am a nurse my job is 8 to 9 hours standing duty. I reduced my work, then I decided to meet Dr. Gautam Tawari. Dr Gautam has been very good at explaining what was wrong going on in my Rt knee and has given me very realistic expectations. He advised an MRI and found that I have ACL tear with meniscus tear so, he advised for ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair, which I got operated for same. It was a painless post op experience. After injuring my left knee playing football I was in complete distress and visited serveral orthopedics in Mumbai. All of them told me that It needed an operation where my meniscus will be permanently removed except Dr Gautam Tawari who suggested to do the operation in a way where only the damaged part of the meniscus will be removed. To highlight the importance of not removing the entire meniscus is extremely important here. If I had gone with a complete removal of meniscus I would be more likely to face Artrithis in future. It is proven that patients who undergo complete removal of meniscus are more likely to get arthritis compared to the ones who remove only the damaged portion. This practice of removing of only damaged part is followed all across Europe and is preferred option for sports professional across globe. This made by decision easy to choose Dr Gautam Tawari to operate. My surgery went extremely well and post operation care was great too. I was guided about the exercise routine which I need to follow for next 6 months post the surgery. I after 3-4 months of surgery was able to do day to day activities normally and was able ride and drive. In my honest opinion I would suggest patients going through the same to visit Gautam Tawari and get your surgery done from him.
